Colonel Anna Schulte, 445th Maintenance Group commander, hosted a group of 43 civic leaders from 4th Air Force March 28, 2008. The civic leader group made a stop at Wright-Patterson AFB to tour the 445th Airlift Wing, the base, and the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force.

Col. Schulte briefed the group on the wing's global mission followed by a tour of the massive C-5. The civic leader program is designed to showcase the critical work citizen airmen and the Air Force Reserve do for the nation.

"This has been the most amazing experience I have had in a very long time," Ms. Silvia Lindley of Aliso Viejo, Calif. said.  "You hear so many things in the news like 'Stop the war in six months' but when you get here and see how the Air Force operates you see we are safe. I am not worrying."

The group enjoyed the information gained at the 445th.  "I've enjoyed this very much. It's been a great experience." Mr. Tim Hoerchler, the Mayor of New Baden, Illinois, said. "I didn't know much about the Air Force Reserve before coming here, but now I can see what kind of an important mission you do."

The civic leader program is a wonderful opportunity to educate local leaders on the Air Force Reserve mission, both locally and globally.
