As America celebrates the life and impact of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., we call upon all Airmen to reflect on his enduring legacy and the call to service to others in the cause of justice, equality, and freedom.

Dr. King rallied our Nation to live up to the promise of full equality under the law.  Today, he continues to inspire each of us to embody these principles as we celebrate a national day of service – a “day on, not a day off.”

Our diverse Air Force is a wonderful example of Dr. King’s vision…working together to serve and protect all Americans.  As we observe Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s birthday, we encourage you to pause and consider the lasting impact of this American hero.  We are honored and humbled to stand beside you in supporting and defending these ideals of freedom and equality that generations of Airmen have fought to secure for our fellow citizens.
