Wright-Patt AF Reserve C-17 transports New York Task Force One, cargo to San Juan

The Air Force Reserve’s 445th Airlift Wing transported members of New York’s Task Force One and cargo to San Juan Puerto Rico, Friday night, September 8.

 

A C-17 Globemaster III from Wright-Patt’s reserve unit transported 75 New York Task Force One members from Robins Air Force Base, Georgia to San Juan, Puerto Rico to assist those affected by Hurricane Irma.

 

The unit delivered Task Force One personnel and 60,000 pounds of cargo which included four rescue dogs, tents and other supplies.

 

The C-17 and crew returned to Wright-Patterson AFB early Saturday morning.

 

New York Task Force One is comprised of FDNY and NYPD members trained to respond to catastrophic events, and is managed by NYC Emergency Management.

 

The unit is currently on alert to support additional Hurricane Irma relief support missions.
