Chief Master Sgt. Gordon M.R. Wager is the Command Chief Master Sergeant of the 445th Airlift Wing at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. The wing supports Air Mobility Command's global airlift requirements in peace, war, national emergencies, and humanitarian efforts. Additionally, the 445th Airlift Wing is manned with more than 1,700 assigned wing personnel in 16 units with an inventory of nine C-17 Globemaster III aircraft and provides aeromedical evacuation.
Chief Wager advises the wing commander and staff on mission effectiveness, professional development, military readiness, training, utilization, health, morale, and welfare of 1,268 enlisted personnel and serves as their liaison to the commander. He also serves as the functional manager for wing group senior enlisted leaders and squadron first sergeants.
He enlisted in 2004, and his background includes various duties across the full spectrum of the security forces career field. Continuing with his leadership, he was selected as an additional duty First Sergeant. During his term, he was the principal advisor to unit and wing commander on matters of health, morale, welfare, and discipline of assigned personnel.
Prior to his current position Individual Mobilization Augmentee to the Command Chief Master Sergeant for the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. CMSgt Wager was deployed in support of Operation Coronet Oak. Also, he completed overseas assignment at Osan Air Base, South Korea.
In his civilian capacity, Chief Wager works as a Department of the Air Force civil servant performing duties as Deputy Chief, AFMC/IA Foreign Disclosure Office, and Director, AFLCMC/WF Information Protection.
