445th Airman named AFRC Services Airman of the Year

Senior Airman Nastasskia Gerald, a services apprentice in the 445th Services Flight, is the Air Force Reserve Command Airman of the Year.

Airman Gerald volunteered for a deployment to Joint Base Balad, Iraq where her skills led the Balad Food Service Team to be awarded section of the month. She was coined by Expeditionary Force Support Squadron commander and superintendent for superior performance.

Airman Gerald established a unit training program resulting in zero overtime and a 100 percent CDC pass rate. She is pursuing her Community College of the Air Force and Bachelor of Science degrees. 

The reservist devotes her off-duty time to assisting the elderly in nursing homes with daily functions and participating in fitness events.
