445th AW Honor Guard members win AFRC awards

Master Sgt. Mark C. Lyle, superintendent of the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base honor guard, has been selected as the 2010 Air Force Reserve Command Program Manager of the year (his fifth consecutive year) and Tech. Sgt. Shawn McKellop, 445th Logistics Squadron and member of the honor guard, has been selected as the 2010 Air Force Reserve Command Honor Guard member of the year.

Sergeant Lyle's accomplishments include the oversight of more than 125 active duty Airmen assigned to the Wright Patterson Air Force Base Honor Guard. His honor guard teams traveled 540,000 miles; performed 2,237 funerals and 271 color guard events. Sergeant Lyle managed $1.25M in assets-$120K fleet of seven vehicles. He also initiated more than 78 Achievement Medals, recognizing the deserving service of the honor guard members.

Sergeant McKellop's accomplishments include the performance of liaison duties for 14 Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve Command units. He provided expert oversight for acquisition of Military Personnel Appropriation days, ensuring 100% payment disbursement to honor guard members. Sergeant McKellop personally performed 135 honor guard details and on 16 separate occasions, he performed multiple details in one day.
