Senior Airman Mikhail Berlin, 445th Airlift Wing Public Affairs, won Air Force Reserve Command's New Photographer of the Year for 2009.

Airman Berlin joined the staff in April 2009. His photographs have not only been posted in the Buckeye Flyer and Skywriter but have been posted on the wing's and Air Force Reserve Command's Web sites.

"I am very happy to have won this award and make my parents proud. This shows me that you can have fun taking pictures, meeting new people, and do a good job at the same time," Airman Berlin said.

Back in his home town of Chicago, Ill., Airman Berlin attends college while working part time as an armed security officer. He also spends his weekends performing as a disc jockey at downtown night clubs.

Airman Berlin will advance to the Air Force competition in San Antonio, Texas, representing the Air Force Reserve Command.
