BUCKLEY AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. -- Air Force Reserve Command has implemented Desktop as a Service also known as Desktop Anywhere to help Reserve Citizen Airmen access critical applications on their personal computer (PC). Whether on a PC, Mac or Chromebook, Desktop Anywhere will provide Airmen 24/7 secure access to military applications on a user’s personal computer using the same look and feel of their computer at their desk on base.
The Desktop Anywhere application is completely isolated from the rest of the data on a PC. It replicates the Air Force desktop environment without downloading or uploading anything from the user’s computer.
The system will provide mobile accessibility with CAC readers for Windows, Mac and Chromebook computers. Members using their phones will be able to use a “virtual CAC” enabled for phones running iOS and Android.
Desktop Anywhere integrates telephony, data, applications video/audio conferencing and security to the mobile workforce in a fast, flexible and simple environment.
