Deep in the bowels of Building D here, is where you will find the 820th Intelligence Squadron, an Air Force Reserve unit under the 655th Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance Group.

The 820th IS supports and augments the 20th Intelligence Squadron and specializes in providing targeted and geospatial intelligence, which is essential for precise global engagements and directly support Combatant Commands around the globe.

The squadron comprises 80 plus reservists, including more than 10 officers and 50 plus enlisted personnel in traditional reserve roles. Additionally, it includes 10 officers and 10 enlisted members serving in full-time active guard reserve positions.

This diverse composition enables the 820th IS to provide extensive support both domestically and internationally.

“We recruit and retain the best in the Air Force by giving them the time to explore other ventures while still serving their country,” said Maj. Brandon Wingert, 820th IS assistant director of operations.

The unit also plays a vital role in backfilling positions at Offutt AFB when active-duty counterparts are deployed.
