What do you get when you put a reserve logistics readiness squadron with an active duty LRS together in a foreign country? You get a lean mean fighting machine! Members of the 445th LRS formed up with their host, the 31st FW LRS at the Aviano Air Base fitness center.

The large group formed up on the basketball courts in the fitness center. They were given direction on the activities they could participate in. Unit members selected from: basketball, spinning, running, weight lifting, cardio training, and group training for those that have a failed an AIr Force physical fitness test.

Senior Airman Wade Bunn took the opportunity to lift weights and play basketball. Airman First Class Glendalis Fernandez of the 31st FW/LRS participated in the spin class.

"It was fun having another unit here participating in our weekly PT," Fernandez said.

A few of the Airmen participated in a kickball game.

"The kickball games were brutal but it allowed members of the two units to talk in the field and when it was their teams turn to kick,", stated Airman First Class Ashleigh Scienza of the 31st FW/LRS as she shared a laugh with Senior Airman Jameccia Haygood of the 445th AW/LRS who also played.

After sixty plus minutes of intense physical activity the group reformed to do cool down stretches together and be dismissed. Joint PT was more than a group of people burning calories, it was the building block needed to form the cohesion between the two units to work together over the next two weeks.

"This was a nice team building exercise, an excellent way to meet new people," said Master Sgt. Eric Weidner, 445th LRS. It was a great chance to get a good work out in for the members of both units.
