445 AW March Spotlight Performer Published March 4, 2016 By 445th Airlift Wing Public Affairs WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio -- Rank/Name: Senior Airman Ryan Garrett Unit: 89th Airlift Squadron Duty Title: Loadmaster Hometown: Lancaster, Ohio Hobbies: I'm a full-time reservist, so my hobbies include traveling, sight-seeing, and trying cuisines all over the world. Career Goal: My goal is to not be a marginal reservist. I want to be proficient in my job and go above and beyond my duty title. I want to be a leader and looked at as someone that can be relied upon. What you like about working at the 445th? I like the men and women I work for and with the most. They motivate me to work hard and make me realize that I'm a part of something greater than myself. Why did you join the Air Force? After serving four years in the Marine Corps, my uncle (a former loadmaster in the 89th) talked to me about crossing-over and becoming a loadmaster. The Air Force allows me the opportunity to continue defending a country that I truly love. It was the best decision I've ever made.
