C-5 Galaxy ready for battle as armor installation winds down
WRIGHT-PATTERSON AFB, Ohio – Tech. Sgt. Mark McQueen, 653rd Combat Logistics Support Squadron, Robins Air Force Base, Ga., installs a piece of armor on the flight deck of a C-5 Galaxy belonging to the 445th Airlift Wing. Several pieces are put together like a big jigsaw puzzle to form the armor and connected with Velcro. The armor will protect the flight crew from small arms fire from the ground and will reduce the threat of damage to vital, internal parts of the aircraft. (Air Force photo/Stacy Vaughn)
