New accomodations for the C-5
WRIGHT-PATTERSON AFB, Ohio - Tech. Sgt. Mike Haggitt, 445th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, tows a C-5 into the 445th Airlift Wing's shiny new Multi-Purpose Hangar for the first time Jan. 29, 2008. The new hangar is designed for unscheduled C-5 maintenance including full wash, spot paint capability, non-destructive inspection of components on the aircraft (x-ray), and aircraft jacking. The new hangar is part of a $65 million construction project to accomodate the C-5 Galaxy aircraft, the largest aircraft in the Air Force inventory. (U.S. Air Force Photo/Laura Darden)
