PTSD Awareness Day event provides information to WPAFB employees

WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio – Beth Stearns, social worker with the Department of Veterans Affairs Mobile Vet Center, meets with Airmen from the 445th Airlift Wing and shares information about the MVC during the Psychological Health Advocacy Program Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) Awareness Day event held here June 27, 2014. Approximately 85 people visited the PHAP information booth and received information about the disorder and the help that is available. Vet Centers guide veterans and their families through many of the major adjustments in lifestyle that often occur after a veteran returns from combat. Services may include individual and group counseling in areas such as PTSD, alcohol and drug assessment, and suicide prevention referrals. (U.S. Air Force photo/Stacy Vaughn)
