WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio -- Maj. Gen. Richard S. Haddad, Air Force Reserve Command vice commander, Robins Air Force Base, Georgia, tests the Ingersoll Rand Ergonomic Handling System during his visit to the 445th Maintenance Squadron August 27, 2015. This in-house initiative put in place an ergonomic lifting device with a floating load unit, which aids picking, lifting, and moving of the C-17 Globemaster III wheels. This process improvement greatly reduces the risks of manual lifting injuries long associated with this repair process. Maj. Gen. Haddad, Maj. Gen. Kenneth D. Lewis, Director of Air, Space and Information Operations, Air Force Reserve Command, Robins Air Force Base Georgia and Maj. Gen. Brian E. Dominguez, Mobilization Assistant to the Commander, Air Mobility Command, Scott Air Force Base, Illinois were visiting the wing as one of their stops to discuss process improvement and provide crosstalk for other units and future implementation across the command.
