Senior leaders visit the 445th Airlift Wing

WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio -- Chief Master Sgt. Mark T. Lockhart, 445th Maintenance Group superintendent, demonstrates the use of an Ingersoll Rand Ergonomic Handling System to Maj. Gen. Richard S. Haddad, Air Force Reserve Command vice commander and Col. Jeffrey McGalliard, 445th Airlift Wing commander during the general’s visit to the wing August 27, 2015. This in-house initiative put in place an ergonomic lifting device with a floating load unit, which aids picking, lifting, and moving of the C-17 Globemaster III wheels. This process improvement greatly reduces the risks of manual lifting injuries long associated with this repair process. Haddad’s visit to the wing was to highlight process improvement and provide crosstalk for other units and future implementation across the command. Maj. Gen. Kenneth D. Lewis, Director of Air, Space and Information Operations, AFRC, and Maj. Gen. Brian E. Dominguez, Mobilization Assistant to the Commander, Air Mobility Command, Scott Air Force Base, Illinois, were also present. (U.S. Air Force photo /Tech. Sgt. Patrick O’Reilly)
