WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio – Lt. Gen. James F. Jackson, the commander of the AFRC, awards a medal to Chief Master Sgt. Alex C. Escarcega, 310th Operations Group, Group Superintendent, after he crossed the finish line in the 19th Annual Air Force Marathon held Sept. 19, 2015. Escarcega was a member of the Air Force Reserve Command MAJCOM Challenge Team. The team consisted of traditional reservists, air reserve technicians, individual mobilization augmentees and Air Guard Reserve members. A special memorial honoring the fallen men and women serving in security forces across the Air Force is proudly displayed in the 445th Security Forces Squadron. It was built by a 445th SFS Airmen as his away to pay tribute and to recognize the sacrifices of the 14 fallen heroes. Staff Sgt. The mountains of Colorado provide the perfect backdrop to a 445th Airlift Wing C-17 Globemaster III as it sits on the flightline in Colorado Springs, Colorado in preparation for flying home to Ohio.
