Keeping the C-17 mission ready
Staff Sgt. Charles Swaim and Senior Airman Clayton Langston, both aircraft structural maintenance technicians with the 445th Maintenance Squadron, spot paint a C-17 Globemaster III during the Oct. 6, 2019 unit training assembly. The application of the paint is part of a process called post aircraft wash corrosion control. This process prevents corrosion from spreading, and it ensures the lifelong structural integrity of the aircraft. The 445th MXS is part of the 445th Airlift Wing, home to nine C-17 Globemaster III aircraft. (U.S. Air Force photo/Master Sgt. Patrick O’Reilly)
