445th Airlift Wing administers first COVID vaccine
Master Sgt. Christian De La Cruz, 445th Aerospace Medicine Squadron aerospace medical technician, gives Maj. Ryan Armstrong, 89th Airlift Squadron C-17 pilot, a COVID-19 vaccination record card Feb. 26, 2021. De La Cruz also provided a sticky note with the time the vaccine was administered for evaluation purposes. AMDS staff members monitored each Airman for development of side effects. The two-dose vaccine was recently approved by the Food and Drug Administration under an emergency use authorization and are currently offered to Defense Department personnel on a voluntary basis.
