LRS Airmen recognize local business for their support
Lt. Col. Brian Eichers, 445th Logistics Readiness Squadron commander, presents a plaque to Sandy’s Towing and Recovery during the September unit training assembly for their support of the squadron. Sandy’s Towing and Recovery established a program with LRS back in 2019 to provide hands-on training to LRS Airmen. To date, the company has provided training for 12 operators, conducted 20 hours of training, executed 12 core tasks directly related to their Career Field Education and Training Plan and accomplished upgrade training. The Airmen have learned about the different types of wreckers and recovery vehicles, operational safety, recovery equipment, caging and uncaging air brakes, techniques and use of a tow bar and wheel lift. They’ve also been shown overturned vehicles, recovery of disabled vehicles, loading onto a flatbed truck, straight towing and wheel removal (single and dual).
