  • Wing announces 2020 annual award winners

    Leadership from the 445th Airlift Wing gathered at Hangar 4026, April 10, 2021 to honor the wing’s annual award winners. This year’s event was much different from the crowd of 500 that usually graces the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force, however, the event highlighted the accomplishes to the small crowd in attendance and those watching virtually via Facebook Live. Thirty nominees were recognized at ceremony. Col. Raymond Smith, 445th AW commander and Chief Master Sgt. Christopher Williams, presented medallions to nominees and a trophy to the winners.
  • Keeping the C-17 mission ready

    Senior Airman Nicholas Wright, 445th Maintenance Squadron metals technologist, uses software and measuring tools to digitally recreate and produce physical products. The software he is using, Computer Aided Drafting (CAD), allows him to create an accurate three dimensional blueprint which can then be crafted by automated manufacturing machines.
  • Wing Reserve Citizen Airman wins AFRC paralegal award

    Tech. Sgt. Misty Mayes, 445th Airlift Wing Judge Advocate General law office manager, won the Air Force Reserve Command Outstanding Air Reserve Component NCO Paralegal of the Year award. The announcement was made March 5, 2021.

    Senior Airman Mariah Harris, 445th Aerospace Medicine Squadron customer support staff administration journeyman, is the 445th Airlift Wing April Spotlight Performer.
  • LRS officer wins 2020 Outstanding AFRC Logistics Readiness Award

    Capt. Tyler Mohr, 445th Logistics Readiness Squadron fuels management flight commander (formerly assigned to the 87th Aerial Port Squadron), won the 2020 Outstanding Air Force Reserve Command Logistics Readiness award, Company Grade Officer of the Year category. The announcement was made March 29, 2021.
  • April Buckeye Flyer now available

    The April 2021 issue of the Buckeye Flyer is now available. The official publication of the 445th Airlift Wing includes eight pages of stories, photos and features pertaining to the 445th Airlift Wing, Air Force Reserve Command and the U.S. Air Force.

    With each New Year comes goals, expectations, and hopes. This year is no different though after 2020, these will likely look much different than in years past. There have been many challenges over the past two years. Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and surrounding communities aren’t exempt.

  • First-term 445th FSS Airmen train at DFAC

    445th Force Support Squadron services apprentices served lunch at the Wright-Patterson Air Force base Pitsenbarger Dining Facility during the February unit training assembly. As a services apprentice in the food service core, new Airmen learn how to read, prepare and serve recipes to nourish members before and during the duty day. In the dining facility, the Airmen not only served meals, they also wrapped leftover food and ensured food is stored at safe temperatures for use in other meal times.
