Capt. Sean Conway, 89th Airlift Squadron pilot, explains the capabilities of a C-17 Globemaster III to young members of Cincinnati-based nonprofit organization Black Boys in Tech at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, April 6, 2024. tour policy

  • Tours must include 10 or more individuals and are designed for those 8 years and older. Tours with less than 10 people will not be accepted.
  • Our tour season runs March 30 through Oct. 30. Aircraft tours are not conducted during the winter months due to the frigid climate. Tours requested outside the season will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis but will generally not be approved.
  • Tours are dependent on aircraft availability and will now be held any day of the duty week (Monday - Friday), except for Wright-Patt Days (see below). However, only one tour per week will be approved. The third week of each month (whether it's a full week or not) will not be available due to Wright-Patt Days.
  • Tours will begin no earlier than 9 a.m. and no later than 1 p.m.
  • Only one tour per organization/school per year will be accepted.
  • Our tour is only for the 445th Airlift Wing and/or C-17 aircraft. If your group would like to include a base tour (or you are only looking for a base tour), please contact the 88th Air Base Wing Public Affairs Office at (937) 522-3252.
  • Wright-Patt Tour Days: Base organizations wanting a C-17 tour are welcome to participate in Wright-Patt Days held the third Friday of the month, depending on weather and mission requirements.
    • Wright-Patt Days will have no more than 3 groups per day. Tours are at 9 a.m., 10:30 a.m., and 1 p.m.
    • Wright-Patt Days only include tours of the C-17.
