Airmen assigned to the 445th Airlift Wing Mission Support Flight put on their warrior faces May 11 to 15 as part of an initiative to come together for one week to complete required and new training requirements.

Senior Master Sgt. Kathy Barnes put together the schedule of events for Warrior Week with her co-worker, Master Sgt. Mark Mollohan, both from the mission support flight personnel support for contingency operations (PERSCO) office. Sergeant Barnes said they also had several personnelists from various units join in on the training.

"We have a lot of new Airmen in our unit and new training records requirements that had to be accomplished. Warrior Week was the perfect opportunity to knock out those requirements and all the required ancillary training requirements that were due," Sergeant Barnes said.

Sergeant Barnes said physical training time and teambuilding exercises were built into the week's itinerary to build moral, physical fitness and some fun to the week. One teambuilding exercise included the game PERSCO Jeopardy. This exercise incorporated topics covered during the week's PERSCO training classes with questions such as; name five mandatory items you must have in your personal bag not including uniforms; and, name the single most important item in the pre-deployment phase.

Warrior Week concluded with a unit BBQ, the final get together to mark the end of a successful week of training.

"This was our sixth annual Warrior Week and by most accounts, clearly our best. We completed tons of PERSCO skills training along with a host of other ancillary and career field upgrade requirements," Lt. Col. Kenneth Herstine, 445th Mission Support Flight commander, said. "I feel Warrior Week was a huge success and look forward to refining our processes and making next year's event even better."
