The 755th Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) Group and two of its local subordinate units, in collaboration with the 920th Aerospace Medicine Squadron (AMDS) and the Virginia Wing Civil Air Patrol (CAP), conducted a comprehensive Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) training mass exercise at Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Va. June 9, 2024. The TCCC exercises equip the 755th ISRG’s squadrons with essential skills to maintain combat readiness for service duties and Reserve Component Posturing (RCP) activation. Roughly 70 Airmen and 20 CAP personnel participated in the four-hour exercise, which included detailed TCCC instruction and practical exercises. Participants were placed in simulated battlefield scenarios requiring them to demonstrate leadership, make quick and informed decisions, and apply appropriate measures to address various medical emergencies. CAP members role-played as victims, simulating conditions such as gunshot wounds, head and face trauma, severe bleeding, severe fractures, and mental stress resulting from an active shooter situation. The exercise effectively prepares all participants to fulfill their service commitments. Following the event, a 30-minute hotwash session allowed all participants to exchange experiences, insights and constructive feedback to enhance future TCCC events.
