WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio -- The 445th Airlift Wing is proud to announce the following Airmen as the fourth Quarter CY16 award winners;
Airman of the Quarter
Senior Airman Kianna Wade, 445th Civil Engineer Squadron operations management journeyman, is the 445th Airlift Wing Airman of the Quarter, fourth quarter. Airman Wade created and modified more than 200 orders involving 91 troop movements. She implemented a squadron newcomers briefing, delivering timely critical information to 34 new Airmen coming into the unit. Wade maintained 149 readiness folders that had 60 deficiencies that she helped rectify on the spot. The Airman managed multiple training deployments involving 103 members serving at more than 13 locations. During her off-duty time, Wade is actively involved with the Air Force Sergeant Association. She volunteered at the Dayton Vectren Air Show and judged a local high school science fair. Wade is currently enrolled at Park University where she’s pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology.
NCO of the Quarter
Staff Sgt. Joshua Sagan, 445th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron aeromedical evacuation technician, is the 445th Airlift Wing NCO off the Quarter, fourth quarter. Sergeant Sagan supported a deployment short-fall, helping tend to 249 wounded warriors. He oversaw 10 Expeditionary Aeromedical Evacuation Flight litter station augmentation set custodial duties, processing eight work orders and tracked $3,000 repairs. Sagan overhauled the in-flight kit supply room by teaming up with the logistics flight, creating a streamlined storage system to secure $235,000 in Air Force assets. During his off-duty time, Sagan volunteered with the American Red Cross, assembling more than 700 care package for displaced Syrian refugees. Her rode in a charity cycling race, helping to raise more than $25,000. Sagan is working on his Community College of the Air Force degree and a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing.
Senior NCO of the Quarter
Master Sgt. Steven Mauter, 445th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron aeromedical evacuation technician, is the 445th Airlift Wing Senior NCO of the Quarter, fourth quarter. In an effort to reduce manpower, Sergeant Mauter streamlined the process for initial imaging iPad electronic flight books, creating a method for 16 updates at once. He’s the principal instructor for all aspects of medical and AE training, providing triage skill to more than 1,200 Airmen. During his off-duty time, Mauter was the course director and lead instructor for the Boy Scouts of America wilderness first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation program in the Boy Scout High Adventure program. He’s a volunteer paramedic for Miami Township, Ohio, conducting more than 220 hours in the last three months. Mauter received his technical studies, emergency medical services degree from the University of Cincinnati.
Company Grade Officer of the Quarter
Capt. Sarah Ripma, 445th Maintenance Squadron, is the 445th Airlift Wing CGO of the Quarter, fourth quarter. Captain Ripma postured crash damage or disabled aircraft recovery team for training compliance by identifying and ordering $7,000 of critical supplies. Her effective management of people and resources enabled the wing to complete 1,378 sorties in FY 16—the highest sortie and flying hour count in Air Force Reserve Command. She implemented aerospace ground equipment corrosion program by achieving 90 re-coats that saved the air Force two years and $250,000 on replacements. Ripma’s leadership was key element in squadron being selected as recipients of the Chief of Staff Team Excellence Award. Key player in successful FY 16 mission capable rate 82.4 percent. Capt. Ripma invested 45 hours into completing the Harvard Business managerial training. Worked with 88th Air Base Wing resiliency program to implement program for the aerospace medicine and maintenance squadrons.
