Wing’s First Sergeants Council wins AFRC award

The Carol Smits AFRC First Sergeant Council of the Year Award was presented to the 445th Airlift Wing First Sergeants Council during the AFRC 2016 Outstanding Airman of the Year banquet held here April 12, 2017. The award was presented for the outstanding performance of the 445th AW First Sergeants Council, to include their incredible display of teamwork and their effort to improve wing morale and increase mission effectiveness. PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Florida -- The Carol Smits Air Force Reserve Command First Sergeant Council of the Year Award was presented to the 445th Airlift Wing First Sergeants Council during the AFRC 2016 Outstanding Airman of the Year banquet held here April 12, 2017. The award was presented for the outstanding performance of the 445th AW First Sergeants Council, to include their incredible display of teamwork and their effort to improve wing morale and increase mission effectiveness. The award is named after the first AFRC Command Chief who wore the first sergeant diamond in support of the command’s Airmen prior to obtaining this prestigious appointment. It consists of a traveling trophy, handed off annually to the winning council, enhancing competition and esprit de corps across the command. (Courtesy photo)
