If you missed TRICARE Open Season, you still have time to act.

In 2018, eligible beneficiaries can take advantage of a one-time, grace period extension, which ends on Dec. 31, 2018 EST. For more information on how to enroll after TRICARE Open Season, visit www.tricare.mil/OpenSeason.

Beginning Jan. 1, 2019, you can only enroll in a plan or make changes during open season or following a Qualifying Life Event (QLE). Learn more about QLEs at www.tricare.mil/LifeEvents

If you intended to enroll in FEDVIP before the end of the Federal Benefits Open Season on Dec. 10, 2018, but were unable to do so for reasons that were beyond your control, visit www.BENEFEDS.com to apply for belated enrollment. If you do not have access to the Internet, call 1-877-888-FEDS (1-877-888-3337), TTY 1-877-889-5690.

Important Note:

Retirees: The TRICARE Retiree Dental Program (TRDP), provided by Delta Dental, ends on Dec. 31, 2018. Eligible TRICARE Retirees will be able to enroll in the Federal Employees Dental and Vision Insurance Program (FEDVIP) for dental coverage in 2019 (vision coverage too!).

There is no automatic enrollment for current TRICARE retiree enrollees (Delta Dental), so eligible beneficiaries MUST TAKE ACTION to enroll in FEDVIP. If a retiree does NOT take action, they will NOT have dental coverage for the duration of 2019.

Active Duty Family Members: For the first time ever, active duty family members are eligible for vision coverage through FEDVIP. This is a significant cost savings for those families who need vision support.
