445th AW announces 4th quarter CY18 award winners

The 445th Airlift Wing is proud to announce the following Airmen as the fourth quarter CY18 award winners.

 

Airman of the Quarter

Senior Airman Devin Copeland, 445th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron AE technician, is the 445th Airlift Wing Airman of the Quarter. Copeland developed an in-flight equipment tracking system; accountability for more than $400,000 with a 93 percent decrease in system failures. He created an orientation packet for newcomers and mentored new Airmen on the Air Force Reserve Command AES Radio Frequency Identification tracking system. Copeland assisted another base’s AE unit during a training exercise with 1,200 Airmen using three aircraft. The Airman helped to showcase AE to an audience of more than 100,000 people at three air shows. Copeland performed volunteer work with the American Legion by delivering Christmas gifts and food to more than 100 homes. He organized a moral trip with more than 30 Airmen to deliver food and supplies to 50 families. Copeland participated in a Memorial Day event where he carried the American flag and laid a reef in front of more than 200 attendees.

  

NCO of the Quarter

Staff Sgt, Jowanda Ayoub, 445th Maintenance Group maintenance management production journeyman, is the 445th Airlift Wing NCO of the Quarter. Ayoub was a key member of the Air Force Reserve Command manpower study where she evaluated man hour requirements and provided clarity that impacted 24 maintenance groups with 450 AFRC Airmen. She produced a maintenance information system app, increasing functional assessment productivity. The NCO built continuity folders and one-on-one training, reducing the office workload by 50 percent. Ayoub led a joint women’s symposium attended by more the 1,000 members from 13 different countries. She dedicated 14 hours to the Veterans Home, assisting veterans and boosting their morale. The NCO volunteered five hours at Faith Mission where she painted buildings and sorted through 75 pounds of donated clothes. Ayoub is pursuing her Community College of the Air Force degree in maintenance production management.

 

Senior NCO of the Quarter

Senior Master Sgt. Chirron Hayslett, 445th Aeromedical Staging Squadron superintendent, is the 445th Airlift Wing Senior NCO of the Quarter. Hayslett tackled the wing’s self-aid and buddy care program, identifying discrepancies and delinquent members and thus developed immediate training course of action, increasing statistics 97 percent in less than four months. She managed the unit’s deployment process where she identified and fixed medical, uniform, pay and waiver issues plus stood up an in-unit processing line for 22 deployers with zero discrepancies. Hayslett managed the final stages of a $2.5 million building reconstruction, mitigating space and communication issues. She provided vital input for an organization chart restructure, increasing members with programs and roles 25 to 90 percent. Hayslett is an active volunteer with the Humane Society, providing 16 hours a month for administrative and technical assistance along with community outreach to help increase adoptions.

  

Company Grade Officer of the Quarter

Capt. Michael Harrison, 87th Aerial Port Squadron operations flight commander, is the 445th Airlift Wing Company Grade Officer of the Quarter. Harrison organized the 87th APS Port Dawg Challenge where he designed a 10-phase training event that his Airmen accomplished 1,500 tasks. He led a 12-passenger team to Dover Air Force, Delaware where the group oversaw the movement of 1,389 tons of cargo, 257 passengers and 58 missions. Harrison was integrated with the 60th Air Mobility Wing to support Hurricane Irma missions by moving 1.7 million pounds of cargo and 340 passengers. He revamped the 445th Mission Support Group’s awards process. The captain is active in the monthly Wright-Patterson Air Force Base Reserve lunch, fostering the culture of teamwork, camaraderie and mission improvement. Harrison completed the Defense Acquisition University level III life cycle logistics certificate, making him a subject matter expert in the complex acquisition logistics process.
