445th Airlift Wing Airman of the Quarter, third quarter

Senior Airman Jerel Wright, 87th Aerial Port Squadron air transportation apprentice, is the 445th's Airman of the Quarter, third quarter. 

Wright orchestrated the movement of 56,000 passengers and 166,000 tons of cargo while at Joint Base Balad, Iraq. He reduced aircraft ground time by 66% which minimized aircraft and personnel exposure to motor attacks. Wright devoted 20 off-duty hours to Air Force Theater Hospital by expediting transport of wounded warriors.

As a certified trainer, Wright successfully instructed personnel in upgrade training, increasing unit deployment capabilities. He also finds time to mentor at Leestown Middle School to at risk youth on the importance of education. Wright has completed a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from the University of Kentucky.
