Air Force Reserve Command announced winners of the fiscal year 2010 medical awards Aug. 22.

Master Sgt. Stephanie Strickland, 445th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron instructor and examiner, was selected as the Air Force Reserve Command Outstanding Aeromedical Evacuation Technician Senior Noncommissioned Officer of the Year.

Strickland energized the headquarter AES unit deployment manager programs with oversight for 500 active-duty, 1,700 civilians and 130 reservists, consisting of 154 downrange this year.

As an inflight aeromedical instructor, she helped train more than 150 Airmen for trauma triage to ensure injured service members returned home alive.

As a traumatic brain injury Airman and family in crisis advisor, she guided TRICARE enrollment and raised $2,000 to help offset medical bills.

Strickland serves the local community by volunteering for Veteran's Day events, supporting Junior ROTC at local high schools, and being an active member of the Air Force Sergeant Squadron 751 chapter where she helped increase membership and recruiting goals by 300 percent.
