445th AES deployed officer CGO of the month

WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio -- First Lt. William Sikes, 445th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron flight nurse, currently deployed with the 379th Expeditionary Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron, Southwest Asia, was selected as the 379th EAES Company Grade Officer of the Month (June).

As the medical crew director, Lieutenant Sikes supported three combat sorties. He provided in-flight care to 36 patients that were evacuated to a higher echelon. The lieutenant also volunteered for the Aeromedical Evacuation Operations Team manning assist where he expedited the safe launch and recovery of two Expeditionary Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron missions.

Lieutenant Sikes participated in the "Rotar Clean-up" activity where his efforts helped to generate a $500 donation toward the CGO morale fund. To stay fit, he ran 130 miles the last four weeks before his fitness test to meet his personal goal.
