Two reservists from the 445th Airlift Wing have been chosen to run with the 4th Air Force Marathon Team during the 2011 Air Force Marathon Sept. 17.

Staff Sgt. Sean Kennedy, 445th Maintenance Squadron, and Master Sgt. Michael Carley, 445th Security Forces Squadron, will be sponsored by 4th Air Force and run with other 4th Air Force wing representatives. They were selected based on several factors to include their average running times and experience with running marathons.

Master Sgt. Carley said he was excited and motivated when he got the news he was selected for the team.

"Talk about being motivated...how about being selected to represent 4th AF in the
Air Force Marathon, if this doesn't motivate me for a personal best, then nothing will, Sergeant Carley said.

Maj. Brian Guthrie, 445th Force Support Squadron commander, and Master Sgt. Jonathon Winters, 89th Airlift Squadron, have been selected as alternates.

Asked if he'll change his workout routine now that he's been selected, Sergeant Carley said his normal workout routine will not change that much.

"My training will remain the same, but with a lot more energy. I'm just really excited and honored to have been selected, Sergeant Carley said.

"We are excited for them to bring home the gold for 4th Air Force," said Chief Master Sgt. Peri Rogowski, 445th Airlift Wing command chief. "Thank you representatives for volunteering and congratulations on your selection...now go out there and run!"
