445th Airlift Wing Airman of the Quarter, second quarter

WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio --  Senior Airman Melissa Miller has been selected as the 44th Airlift Wing Airman of the Quarter, second quarter. She's an aerospace medical service journeyman assigned to the 445th Aeromedical Staging Squadron.

While deployed to Joint Base Balad, Airman Miller was selected to provide care at the Arrow Head emergency room. She provided expert treatment to over 500 patients monthly resulting in increased emergency room readiness and assuring a smooth turnover. While volunteering over 200 hours in the contingency aeromedical staging facility, Airman Miller assisted with the launch and recovery of over 64 wounded warriors.

Airman Miller proactively attended weekly Health Professional lectures obtaining 24 medical continuing education credits while deployed to Iraq. Airman Miller recently volunteered for the America's Freedom Lodge fund raiser, raising $11,000 for wounded Veterans.
