Staff Sgt. Dennis Kimble, 445th Logistics Readiness Squadron logistics planner currently assigned to the 445th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, was selected as the Air Force Reserve Command Logistics Plans Airman of the Year. The announcement was made March 11.

Sergeant Kimble ensured 100 percent accountability of deploying members; validating that readiness and personal requirements were complete. He managed the deployments of 104 Airmen, ensuring their flights were scheduled. He also deployed 208 Airmen on 180 taskings to seven locations and six operations in support of the Global War on Terror.

Sergeant Kimble was a key player in the design and movement of wing mobility assets to a 2,000 square foot warehouse that helped improve the issue and turn-in process. He also conducted monthly briefings for 40 unit deployment managers, explaining the latest policy changes and providing guidance. While on annual tour at Joint Base Charleston, S. C., he manned the 437th Airlift Wing's reception center, helping out his fellow reservists.
