445th Airlift Wing Airman of the Year

Senior Airman Emily Temple was selected as the 445th Airlift Wing Airman of the Year; which was announced at the 445 AW Annual Awards Banquet Jan. 8. She is a fuels technician in the 445th Logistics Readiness Squadron. Among her many accomplishments, Airman Temple is noted for issuing 10,000 gallons of fuel to 58 helicopters in support of the largest combat search and rescue mission since Vietnam; resulting in the successful rescue of 67 warriors. Airman Temple is a volunteer for Airmen Against Drunk Driving and for the USO, where she organized and tracked phone, computer and gaming usage and provided morale to over 30,000 members serving in Iraq. She was awarded the 4th AF Fuels Airman of the Year and is currently pursuing a master's degree in secondary education from Grand Valley State University and a dual certification in fitness instruction and personal training.
