Members of the 445th Airlift Wing and their families enjoyed a day of food, fun and activities at the wing's annual picnic Sept. 12 at Bass Lake Lodge here.

The 445th Services Flight with support from other members of the wing prepared food for more than 1,800 reservists and their families.

Activities for the day included face painting, cornhole, volleyball, video games and various kid games. Reservists also had the pleasure of dunking wing leadership in the dunk tank.

The highlight of the day for some was the C-5 Galaxy tour. Buses were on hand to shuttle picnic goers to the flight line for an up-close and personal aircraft tour.

"This was the best wing picnic I've attended. The food was great and there were activities for all age groups," Staff Sgt. Jordan West, 87th Aerial Port Squadron said.

Not only did the day provide lots of food and fun, but wing organizations such as airmen and family readiness were on hand to provide information to military members and their families.

"The picnic volunteers did an excellent job! I was amazed at the various activities offered, and the detail that went into planning the event. I've heard nothing but positive comments from those who attended. Kudos to all who planned and executed the day's festivities," said Col. Stephen Goeman, 445th Airlift Wing commander.
