Eighteen young professionals from Generation Dayton had the opportunity to come together to visit Wright-Patterson Air Force Base July 24, making a stop at the 445th Airlift Wing to tour a C-5 Galaxy and talk with the flight crew.

Sponsored by the Dayton Chamber of Commerce, Generation Dayton is a diverse group of 250 young professionals who live and work in the Dayton region. Group members have the opportunity to connect with peers, develop professional skills, build relationships with business and community leaders, and have fun while growing as a professional.

"Each month, we come together and take part in sponsored events, like this one at Wright-Patt, that provide us with opportunities to network, share best practices, as well as build relationships with business and community leaders," April Mescher, professional development committee member, said.

Members of Generation Dayton come from all different work areas. Teachers, accountants, lawyers, and brokers, are a few career fields represented by the young professionals ages 21-40 in Generation Dayton.

"We came to the base to educate young professionals in the Dayton area about the base and what the base has to offer. We want to thank the base commanders and the junior work force at Wright-Patt for allowing Generation Dayton to visit and tour a C-5 Galaxy," said Andy Reitz, a member of the group's steering committee.

"Touring the base and getting first-hand knowledge from our military personnel makes you proud to be an American. We look forward to returning again in the near future." Mr. Reitz added.
