A nice day for a FOD walk
WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio – More than 130 reservists and civilians from the 445th Airlift Wing participated in the bi-monthly foreign object debris (FOD) walk July 15. FOD on the flightline could be ingested and severely damage aircraft engines. More than four pounds of FOD was collected, which equates to several thousand small stones. Chief Master Sgt. Darrell Cooper, 445th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, discovered the “Golden Bolt” and received a certificate of achievement for FOD prevention and a gift certificate to a local restaurant.
