A reservist assigned to the 445th Airlift Wing was selected as the 2008 Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force Base Honor Guard Program Manager of the Year June 2.

Master Sgt. Mark Lyle, 445th Mission Support Group and Superintendent of the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base active duty honor guard, was selected as the Air Force winner and has won the Air Force Reserve Command Honor Guard Program Manager of the Year for four consecutive years.

Sergeant Lyle's accomplishments for the award period of Jan. 1, 2008 to Dec. 31, 2008, include the coordination of 2,086 funerals and support of 291 Color Guard events within a six state, 210,000 square mile area. He was also personally committed to program excellence and performed over 63 Honor Guard details, including high visible protocol events. Over the time period, the 88th Air Base Wing Services Division received more than 800 letters congratulating honor guard performances.
