Members of the 445th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron will sponsor a blood and bone marrow drive Saturday, Feb 7 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the American Legion, 526 Legion Lane in Fairborn, Ohio.

The drive is being held in honor of Master Sgt. Sandi Golden-Vest, a 445th AES member recently diagnosed with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML) sub type 2. Because of her current medical condition and multiple blood transfusions, she needs units of blood and a bone marrow transplant.

Those interested in donating blood are asked to make an appointment by going to
http://www.donortime.com; click on "Find a Sponsor" and use sponsor code 986. Registration begins at 8 a.m. and ends at 12:50 p.m.

No appointment is needed for those who'd like to be a bone marrow donor.
Master Sgt. Sandi Golden-Vest is married to Marcus, and they have four children, Brandon, 16; Katie, 14; Paige, 14; and Zack, 5.
