The 445th Public Affairs received an e-mail from Senior Master Sgt. Timothy Spradlin, 445th Civil Engineer Squadron, while deployed down range for a need of sports equipment for the troops.

The 445th Public Affairs office requested help by publishing their need in the Buckeye Flyer in July.

Because of the generosity of the wing members we were able to collect enough sports equipment to fill up six boxes. We collected baseballs, bats, footballs, basketballs, dart board, and frisbees. Then we shipped them Oct. 2, 2007.

The Public Affairs office received an e-mail from him recently and this is what Sergeant Spradlin said, "On behalf of the Airmen of the 586th, 886th and 887th Security Forces Squadron please accept our heartfelt thanks for the sports equipment you gathered and sent to us. The weather is starting to cool off here nicely and we are forming leagues in various events. Outdoor Recreation is a KBR contract and not very well supplied, so the stuff you sent is awesome. Thanks again."
