89 AS Flyers win 445 AW football tournament

WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio -- Seven high-powered squadron flag football teams battled for the coveted champion's football during the Oct. 4, 2014, Battle of the Squads Flag Football game held outside of the Jarvis Gym here.

The 445th Airlift Wing squadrons participating in the game were; the 445th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron, 87th Aerial Port Squadron, 445th Logistics Readiness Squadron, 445th Security Forces Squadron, 89th Airlift Squadron, 445th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron and the 445th Force Support Squadron.

The Flyers of the 89AS won first place after a tight championship game vs. the Cops from the SFS. Third place went to LRS and fourth place went to the 87th APS.

The 445th FSS Services Flight not only planned the football tournament, they also prepared "The World According to Hot Dogs" buffet. The buffet featured hot dogs topped with gourmet toppings representing countries from around the world.

Planning is already underway for the next morale event scheduled for January.
