ARPC stands up HQ Individual Reservist Readiness and Integration Organization

BUCKLEY AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. --  Air Reserve Personnel Center officials announced here Feb. 4 the standup of Headquarters, Individual Reservist Readiness and Integration Organization. Once operational, its function will ensure integration of Air Force Reserve individual reservists into active duty units to meet Air Force and combatant commander requirements.

RIO will assume a major portion of the workload currently managed by the Readiness Management Group at Robins AFB, Ga. This transition is part of the Air Force Reserve Human Capital Transformation initiative, which is transferring personnel workload for IR programs from Headquarters, Air Force Reserve Command at Robins AFB to ARPC at Buckley AFB.

This transition will be executed using a phased approach with a projected completion date of Sept. 30. These phases will include finance, personnel, medical management and others, after which time RMG will be deactivated.

During this initial phase, IR flight records were transferred to ARPC by military transport on Jan. 12, the first of many transfers of personnel records and responsibilities. Notifications and instructions to IRs regarding each departmental function and shift will be disseminated through news releases, e-mails and the Air Force "Notice To Airmen" program.

The IR is a unique Reserve participation category, assigned directly to active duty units and in various higher defense department staffs. As a critical force multiplier, more than 8,000 IRs provide operational capability in support of major and combatant commands, as well as defense agencies around the globe. They serve in the most flexible participation status offered by the Air Force Reserve. IRs bring skilled effort to the Air Force and joint operations, often with specialized corporate knowledge from technical fields in the corporate realm.
