445 SFS Airman is local AFSA Reserve Member of the Year

Senior Master Sgt. Brian Algeo, 445th Security Forces Squadron operations superintendent, is the 2015 Air Force Sergeants Association Kittyhawk Chapter 751 Reserve Member of the Year. He was presented with this award at the AFSA annual awards banquet Jan. 23, 2016 for his outstanding contributions both on and off duty.

During the award period, Algeo led 78 Airmen during the 14-day Air Force Reserve Command Ground Combat School, perfecting and ensuring tactical training requirements were met.  He developed and coordinated the 445th Airlift Wing's active shooter training course with 180 security forces members and augmentees were proficient with emergency management response. Algeo led the first mass security support for the Air Force Marathon, 48 SF Airmen filled a 50 percent manpower gap.

Sergeant Algeo is involved with the Wounded Warrior Project and Warrior Challenge; the last event raised more than $4,000 in donations and increased awareness of the charity. He's also a volunteer with the local Masonic Lodge, coordinating events for the Special Olympics, burn center and eye foundation.
