April is Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month and this year the Air Force wants to remind Airmen that reducing sexual violence in the ranks is a year round responsibility that rests on everyone’s shoulders.
Airmen are encouraged to “know your part, do your part.” This means that, regardless of rank, any Airman can take action to lead their peers and set an example for others — Whether this means stepping in when something doesn’t seem right or supporting a victim with compassion and professionalism.
Every Airman who enforces professionalism in their workplace and insists their Wingmen treat each other with dignity and respect is taking action to eliminate sexual assault and support survivors.
Sexual assault affects more than just the individuals involved in the assault. Wingmen play a vital role in building and restoring their unit’s climate and supporting victims in their recovery.
Airmen are the heart of the Air Force—with them, the mission can’t fail; without them, the mission can’t succeed.
