Members of the 445th Airlift Wing participated in many events during 2009. From deployments and community events, to training and personnel issues, the men and women from the wing were occupied each month with various duties and commitments.

Throughout 2009, the wing deployed more than 320 Airmen to support ongoing operations in Iraq, Afghanistan, and other areas around the globe.  Our reservists deployed to various locations to include Al Udeid, Balad, Kirkuk, Guam and Bagram.

The 89th Airlift Squadron supported the war effort by transporting more than 10,792 tons of cargo and 4,738 passengers in 2009.

The maintenance grouped worked hard all year to keep the C-5 Galaxy aircraft flying. The wing flew more than 640 sorties for a total of 3,038 flying hours.

The 445th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron had another busy year providing medical care to our wounded warriors by transporting more than 12,000 patients.

Airmen from the wing participated in various community events over the past 12 months, to include six C-5 Galaxy flyovers, four air shows, Employers Appreciation Day, Congressional visits and civic leader tours. More than 2,000 guests toured the C-5 and wing organizations in 2009.
