C-5 flys regular missions to Kuwait
SMSgt Allan Blackwell, a flight engineer with the 445th Operations Support Squadron, uses his headset to communicate with the rest of the flight crew as they prepare the C-5 for take-off at Moron Air Base, Spain. Moron was one of the stops the C-5 made on this mission from Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio, to Kuwait, then back to home station. The 445th Airlift Wing began flying regular missions to Kuwait in January, 2008, in support of U.S. forces in Iraq and Afghanistan. The flights leave Wright Patterson AFB, Ohio, load cargo at an East Coast base, then fly into Ramstein AB, Germany. The plane then heads to Kuwait and makes its way back to Wright-Patt.
