Maj. Gen. von Hoffman visits with 445th Airlift Wing Airmen

Senior Master Sgt. Nicholas Garman, 445th Maintenance Squadron fabrication flight superintendent, shows Maj. Gen. C. McCauley von Hoffman, Director of Logistics, Civil Engineering, Force Protection and Nuclear Integration, Headquarters Air Force Materiel Command, two fabricated parts created by the metals technology shop during her tour of the shop, Jan. 8, 2023. Garman told her about the working relationship they have with Boeing engineers and how they support their manufacturing capabilities. He also highlighted the importance of funding the computer numerical control training, which is not taught in a technical school. While at the wing, the general received an overview briefing from both the 445th Mission Support Group and 445th Maintenance Group, she met with 21X officers during a senior leader perspective discussion, had lunch with both 445th MXG and MSG leadership and toured various maintenance facilities. Five Airmen, two from MSG and three from MXG, were coined by the general for being their group’s outstanding performer.
