445 MXS Airmen compete in Wright-Patt Cardboard Boat Regatta

They won “The Packed Pontoon Award” for most people on a boat and “The Soggy Bottom Award” for having the last boat standing during the battle royal in which the participants attempt to sink each other’s boats by ramming or filling with water by use of water guns or buckets. The 445th MXS team made their boat, Ship for Brains, out of cardboard, glue and tape. Ten teams participated in the event this year with more than 100 people in attendance.

445 MXS Airmen volunteer at women’s shelter

Ten members of the 445th Maintenance Squadron spent three hours sorting donations for Hope’s Closet at YWCA Dayton, Dec. 3, 2023. The sorting process included sorting through clothing donations and ensuring their serviceability, separating clothing by gender and size, and then hanging/folding them in the correct location of the Hope’s Closet “store.” The squadron also contributed an estimated $3,500 donation in toys, gift cards and clothing. 445 MXS keeps aircraft mission ready

Senior Airman Andrew Spicer, 445th Maintenance Squadron aerospace propulsion technician, removes a valve on an unserviceable C-17 Globemaster III aircraft engine Nov. 7, 2020. Before the unserviceable engine is shipped out of the unit, the 445th MXS Airmen utilize the stationary engine as a training tool.
